About Us

Picture
Shop owners Lisa Miller and Stephanie Tsuruda met in college (University of Oregon) freshman year.  They remained friends throughout the years, even though they lived in different states.  Lisa has always enjoyed things from the past, especially the mid-century era.  She has been collecting and selling for several years.  Her vintage business, Canned Ham Collectibles, has taken her to sell at The Portland Flea, and you will find her things at Hawthorne Vintage in Portland.. Stephanie has returned to Oregon after living away for 33 years.  She has a passion for Latin America, after working a year in Guatemala as a research nurse.  She has been selling unique handcrafted dog collars (Pana Paws) made in Guatemala that help support a dog foundation (Hope for The Animals project).  She loves working with the artisans and promoting their work.

Attention is focused on the artisans producing excellent quality work in exchange for fair trade prices. Beautiful fair trade and quality pieces include jewelry and accessories, woven textiles, fabric and leather bags, unique beaded and embroidiered dog collars and so much more.  Many of the beaded items are made by the Mayan Families.org artisan program, various women co ops as well as individual artisans. Much of the motivation in purchasing products is to help artisan women provide food for their families, they often live in sparse conditions.  It is such a pleasure to work with them as they have a beautiful happy energy when they are using their artisan skills.
